Spanky's Sauces is a premium hot sauce brand based in Covington, Kentucky, dedicated to crafting bold, flavorful, and fermented hot sauces using only the freshest ingredients. Our mission is simple: to bring you handcrafted, small-batch hot sauces that pair with your favorite everyday meals. We focuson flavor first, starting with our favorite peppers,  and build the sauces based on where the pepper wants to take it.

Meet Spanky – Our Chief Canine Officer

At the heart of our brand is Spanky, our lovable and mischievous mascot. Spanky (also known as Sammie) is a rescued lab/pit/hound mix who found her forever home in 2020 after being discovered on the side of the road in South Central Kentucky. Known for her playful energy and signature jammies, Spanky can often be spotted around Covington, KY, making friends and charming the locals. If you see her, don’t hesitate to say hello—just be ready to get your face washed!

At Spanky's Sauces, we take pride in the art of fermentation — an ancient preservation technique that enhances flavor and ensures shelf stability. Our sauces are made with fresh, high-quality ingredients, carefully crafted to balance heat, acidity, and complexity. Unlike mass-produced hot sauces, our small-batch fermentation process brings out bold, natural flavors that continue to develop over time. 

From Kitchen to Bottle

Every sauce we make here at Spanky's starts in our test kitchen, where we experiment with unique flavor profiles and perfect each recipe. Our sauces are first shared with friends, family, and local food lovers in Covington, KY and the surrounding communities for feedback.

Once a recipe is perfected, it’s sent to a licensed commercial co-packer—a trusted hot sauce producer based in San Diego, CA, ensuring compliance with all state and federal food safety regulations.
